Description

Joey Ramone was born Jeffry Hyman and was the lead singer of the four-member punk-rock band the Ramones. The band started in Queens, New York, in 1974, when, as he said, "The only thing that you heard on the radio was disco." By 1976, the band became a major force in the evolution of rock-n-roll; they have been lauded as the inventors of punk rock and are important influences in musical and pop culture. (Imdb)

Joey was 6'6" and obsessive-compulsive. He wrote many songs and was a political liberal. He died in New York City, from cancer, and is buried in - of all places - Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, an old home town of mine.

"I Wanna be Sedated" too..........................Thanks, Joey!
