[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:CWashStateDriversLicense.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:CWashStateDriversLicense.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. —Angr 18:31, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:CWashStateDriversLicense.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:CWashStateDriversLicense.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 18:31, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Brent Corrigan BLP
Jody, once again you and I are at odds about words to be used in an article. Semantics I suppose. I read your link on BPL's however, while it aids in explaining your article, it doesn't convince me of it. There is a section within the list of guidelines for including his blog statments and they specifically say "are not contentious." With the lies that have been told, unfortunately that would mean nearly anything he says is contentious.no? --Julien Deveraux 00:51, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- J, at this point, I'm not trying to convince you of anything. As SchmuckyCat pointed out, you haven't provided any link or citation that shows there is any dispute as to what his actual age is. The AVN articles reference Cobra saying they have IDs on file. Corrigan says those IDs are forged and he's now posted a copy of his DL to his website. That is a chain of events that's verifiable.
- You may believe Corrigan photoshopped the date on his license. Fine. But you haven't provided a source that says he did so. You may believe contend that the alphanumeric in the license doesn't mean anything. Fine. But the Marrist College information says otherwise. Again, a chain of events that are verifiable.
- Just because you think something is contentious, doesn't mean it is. In order to prove contention, you need a verifiable reference that it is. Otherwise, your changes put Wiki at risk for defamation.Jodyw1 01:15, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

- Point not proven b/c the very existence of a source that indicates that another party has proof in their possession that a misrepresentation took place and that the misrepresentation has not been PROVEN to be false and is still citeable does not put anyone at a risk of defamation. Both sources of information are citeable and not false so who's defaming? --Julien Deveraux 06:47, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Role of adminstrators
I noticed on the Brent Corrigan talk page that you are giving deference to other people discussing based on whether or not they are an admin. Don't do that. Administrators just have extra tools. They aren't judges. They may know the rules, and they may have good judgment, but they don't hold more weight simply because of who they are. Specifically, being an admin is supposed to be no big deal and they are not elevated status or rule makers. SchmuckyTheCat 00:23, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- Funny. In all my readings here, I didn't know -- or remember -- that. Jodyw1 04:59, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:CWashStateDriversLicense.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:CWashStateDriversLicense.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Angr 20:22, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Duplicate images uploaded
Thanks for uploading Image:SeanR.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Sean2.jpg. The copy called Image:Sean2.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 15:45, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

The newsletter is back! Many things have gone on during the past few months, but many things have not. While the assessment drive helped revitalize the assessment department of the project, many other departments have received no attention. Most notably: peer review and our "workgroups". A day long IRC meeting has been planned for October 13th, with the major focus being which areas of the project are "dead", what should our goals be as a project, and how to "revive" the dead areas of our project. Contribute to the discussion on the the new channel (see below) We decided to deliver this newsletter to all project members this month but only those with their names down here will get it delivered in the future. This is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned or post news on the next issue's talk page
Lastly, a new WikiProject Biography channel has been set up on the freenode network: Our thanks to Phoenix 15 for setting it up.
