Jody Banim (born 1 April 1978, in Manchester) is an English football player who currently plays for Droylsden. [1]
Between the years of 1995 and 1996, Banim started training with the Manchester United academy.
He left Manchester United and joined Flixton, a team based in Greater Manchester.
On 1 August he was signed by Radcliffe Borough where he scored an 'amazing', 97 goals in 125 appearances for the club. He also held a record for scoring in 14 games in a row.
It was not long before Shrewsbury Town snapped up the Forward for a fee of £20,000 in December, 2003. However he only made 15 appearances overall and only started in a match seven times that season of which he scored 2 goals.
Accrington Stanley loaned in Banim for one month. He played three matches as a substitute there, but failed to score in either of the matches. The day after he returned to Shrewsbury Town, Banim then signed on a free transfer to Accrington Stanley. At the very start of 2005, Banim was released by the club.
He was then signed by Droylsden on 1 August. He made a total of 31 appearances where he scored 10 goals. Torquay United loaned in Banim to help the team with a possible play-off place, while Droylsden were heavily in the relegation zone. He didn't score for Torquay, however he did make a total of 8 appearances.
On 13 May 2008, it was announced that Banim will join Burton Albion when the transfer window reopens on June 1, making him the first new signing for Burton ahead of the 2008-2009 season.[2]
