Jodi Number One is an annual series reality dance show on the Indian STAR Vijay channel. Its contestants are couples who are generally TV stars in their own right, often from the Television industry.

The show has the unique concept of celebrity couples competing against one another. Major names in the television industry were given a platform to showcase another side of their persona. It is telecasted on vijay TV Friday to Saturday at 8pm. Though the show's concept has originally derived from Nach baliye, the show had created a niche for itself in the small-screen.
Jodi No. 1 - Season 1 was a one of the most entertaining shows aired at that time when it was launched in October 2006. The show was launched amidst much hype and this was the first time in Tamil television that the viewers got to see their favorite TV stars in a new avatar.
The show witnessed 4 real life couples and 4 reel life couples put on their dancing shoes; facing moments of high tension, jubilation and exhilaration over 13 weeks. While the eminent panel of judges comprising of dance master Kala, popular actor Prashanth and the ravishing Ramya Krishnan chose the two finalists. The viewers themselves chose the third finalist.
Prem and Pooja - The winners of the Wild Card round were adjudged the champions of Jodi No. 1 by the audiences. They received 10 lakhs as the prize money.
Jodi no.1 season 2 began following the season 1's success among the Tamil audiences across tamilnadu. Jodi no.1 season 2 witnessed many small screen couples, with 8 new celebrity couples; all popular faces among Tamil audiences. The 8 couples were Kalaiselvan Tinku, Preethi, Yugendren, Hayma Malini, Sree, Krithika, Prithveeraj, Uma Riyaz, Arvind, Lakshmi, Irfan, Monisha, Venkat, Nisha Dev and Aishwarya.
Tinku and Preethi were the winners of Jodi no 1 season 2 bagging the 10 lakhs whereas venkat and Nisha won the best performance award.
The popularity of Jodi no 1 season increased after the fight between the actor Simbhu (alias silambarasan) and prithveeraj where the later questioned the former of his judgement choice. Simbhu then chose to walk out of the sets eliminating himself. He later came back into the show on the other participants request, following which prithveeraj walked out of the show.
The couple Prithveera and Uma riyaz were one of the most celebrated pair in the show and also the favourite of the masses.
The show also telecated footage of the couples real lifestyles, their families, friends and the efforts put in for the competition, this had said to have caused a lot of emotional connection with the audiences and also increased TRP ratings.

Amir Rizvi is a writer who has written the launch promos of Nach Baliye 1&2, for Nach Baliye 3 he has done some promos and AV. television actor. Monica Nair Head of on air promos has directed the Promos for Nach Baliye 1,2&3, Jaya Peter has won promax awards for Nach Baliye. One of India’s leading choreographer and national award winner Kala master stepped in to the film world at only 12. Dance master Kala is a professional choreographer for both cinematic [Indian, Kollywood and Bollywood industry] and training dance. Kala instructs up to 4 different styles of dances such as western, classical, Bhangara and Indian folk. This talented choreographer also has a cinematic dance school, which includes up to 1000 students. After working as an assistant for Raghu Master, she got her first victory in choreographing a Tamil film PUNNAGAI MANNAN. Rapidly climbing up, this gifted choreographer has successfully choreographed up to 3600 songs in diverse languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada, Oriya, Bengali, English, Italian and Japanese.
Kala master has performed more than 350 stage shows in various countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai, U.S.A, U.K and Australia. Some of Kala’s Highlights is when she: • Choreographed a mega classical dance for the 1996 Miss World event which was held in Bangalore. • Accomplished an India Athletics and Police show with at least 700 police men. • Directed Japan expo in 2000.
