[edit] Importance / significance
The article was tagged for speedy deleted from Wikipedia under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Although the current content may not indicate the required significance this will emerge as it is developed from a stub (as marked). The article is notable because:
- Art fairs and festivals are legitimate topics for inclusion in Wikipedia. See Frieze Art Fair, Ann Arbor Art Fairs, Zoo Art Fair, Salisbury International Arts Festival, Edinburgh Annuale
- The Joburg Art Fair is the first art fair in the world focussing on contemporary African Art
- The fair includes notable African artists including Zwelethu Mthethwa, William Kentridge, Guy Tillim, David Goldblatt, Peter Hugo and Moshekwa Langa.

- A different user has subsequently removed the speedy deletion tag. For interest sake, when I google "Art Fair" the initial primary source comes up as the second. Could of course be that google know something about me, but still. The article now also includes a number of references that are independent of the exhibition organisers including two major South African newspapers. laurens (talk) 12:55, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
