Joanne McCartney is a British Labour Party politician and barrister, a member of the London Assembly.
McCartney worked as a barrister specialising in employment law and helped to establish a local Chambers in Enfield in the early 1990s. She also worked as an adjudicator for the Housing Ombudsman dealing with disputes between landlords and tenants.
McCartney was elected a councillor in the London Borough of Enfield in 1998, for Edmonton, then Palmers Green, and stood down at the 2006 local elections. She was elected to the London Assembly for Enfield and Haringey in the 2004 assembly elections.
She was a member of the Commission for Racial Equality.
She won relection in 2008 by around 1400 votes
