Joanna Fisher
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Joanna Fisher briefly found fame in the UK in the popular but controversial child performance programme Minipops back in 1983 for the then new Channel 4. She was the youngest member of the show, at only five years old, but often performed solo versions of the popular songs of the day.
One of her performances as Sheena Easton singing the love song "Morning Train (9 to 5)" attracted an outcry in the media at the time due to the song's lyrics and the choice of make-up and clothes in her performance.
Joanna stayed with the Minipops long after its cancellation from UK screens, enjoying further success with the group in Canada.
Since then Fisher's television appearances have been limited to the 2005 documentary Whatever Happened to the Minipops and as a mystery guest on The Big Fat Anniversary Quiz, a light hearted quiz celebrating the 25th anniversary of Channel 4, screened in November 2007.
On both occasions she confirmed that she still sings, is still happy with her association with the group and occasionally misses the stardom of her Minipops years.
She now teaches riding and is said to be now living in Germany.
