Joanna (song)

"Joanna" is a hit single by legendary R&B/funk group Kool & The Gang. Released in 1984 from the group's album of the previous year, In the Heart, the song was an immediate hit, peaking at number 2 on the singles charts in the US and the UK. It also topped the R&B chart in the US.
It is a romantic R&B ballad, like many of the group's later work, with the eponymous girl the main subject of the song.
