Joan Sydney (born 5 September 1936 in London, England) is an actress best known for her work on Australian television.
Her first prominent role was as Matron Maggie Sloan in A Country Practice from 1983 to 1990, and again in 1994. She later played Mary Patchett in E Street and made appearances in Something in the Air, Mother and Son, and All Saints.
Since 2002, she has played the recurring role of Valda Sheergold in Neighbours.
