[edit] Biography
Joachim von Westphal was born and raised in Hamburg where he attended the Johanneum up to his A-levels in 1998.
After producing beats for himself and friends at school at the age of 16, he started producing Hamburg hip hop acts, soon making a name for himself in the city and the surrounding areas. Josen preferred to remain in the background and instead of performing himself as before, focused on producing and promoting artists he discovered during freestyle rap battles and gigs in underground clubs.
Next to working for Hamburg labels such as boogieblast and 360, von Westphal looked ahead and went the rather particular way of studying science of management with a focus on marketing and promotion at the University of Hamburg. After partnerships and collaborations with a number of German hip hop artists, event marketing companies and record labels, including Eimsbush, PatChase and kingz recz, von Westphal decided to found his own promotion agency in 2005.
Today, von Westphal is head of Core Duct Promotion which mainly works for hip hop and R&B artists and related companies.
