[edit] Biography

Frost was born in London[1] to an English father and a Gibraltar-born mother, Joa Frost[citation needed]. Jo has more than 15 years experience in child care[2], working as a nanny in the United States and the United Kingdom, including her work with families on the hit television series, Supernanny, shown in over 47 countries around the world.

Jo has written three books: Supernanny: How to Get the Best from Your Children[1] (ISBN 1-4013-0810-4), Ask Supernanny: What Every Parent Wants to Know and Jo Frost's Confident Baby Care. Her approach to parenting is based on maintaining adult authority in a consistent manner, while creating a safe and peaceful environment for children to thrive. She is known for introducing parents to the concept of "the naughty step"[2], a variation on the "time-out" method[citation needed]. In her book she provides practical solutions for all sorts of behavioural issues including adherence to bed time, meal time conduct, behaviour in public, sibling rivalry and anger management issues.
