Jo Barrett is a Romance Author who was born in Okinawa, Japan, and yet the only Japanese word she understands is "sushi"- (wow, that's embarrassing...). She moved to San Antonio, Texas, and attended the University of Texas, Austin, where she received the Normandy Scholarship. After graduating, she moved to Washington, D.C. and began working as a staffer on Capitol Hill. While working full-time, she earned a law degree from Georgetown University. She then moved to New York City, worked briefly at Cardozo Law School, and began writing her first novel.

Jo Barrett is the author of The Men's Guide to the Women's Bathroom which was published by Harper Collins / Avon Books in 2007 and optioned by CBS / Paramount Pictures with Hollywood Actor Hugh Jackman's Production Company attached to produce. She has traveled to more than 70 countries, and is a big fan of diplomacy and worldwide peacekeeping missions.
