Opinoso 21:56, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Hoje tentarei inserir fontes relacionadas a geografia e assuntos afins.

I’ve already told you I have limitations in English, though I’m making efforts to improve it.
Você escreveu 50% do artigo?
You’ve written 50% of the article? (lol) You are disregarding other users contributions. I can clearly see in the page history that you’ve done almost nothing.
I don’t understand you; if you want to present a faithful image of Brazil, you should present pictures of blondes too, because they also exist in the country. I don’t understand. If there were only pictures of blonde people I could understand you, but there are pictures of blacks, mulatos, Asians and other white people on the side.
This is an encyclopedia and information must be presented from a neutral point of view. Both sides must be shown, the tropical Brazil and Brazil below the tropical line, the Brazil of afro-descendents and of European descendents.
*I don't see your miraculous contributions in the page history.
*The demography section presents all groups of the Brazilian population; I don’t know why you have prejudice towards the blondes.
*Yes, I removed the “Education and Health” section, but if you pay more attention, you will notice everything was resolved through civilized conversation.
*The South Region has annual occurrences of snow, whether the climate is Subtropical or Temperate. Not in distant places. If you look it up, you will find out the town of São Joaquim experienced snowy weather three times last month.
*The table must have suffered distortions because of your computer’s configuration. You will notice no one else complained. The word “Recife” appears twice – once in the table itself, and another in the picture’s footnote.
*Mulatos and pardos can’t be considered black people (this is a joke), because mulatos are descendents of white people, indigenous populations and other groups. Looking at it this way, Brazil has more than 80% of white.
*The genetics argument doesn’t prove anything. Famous Brazilian afro-descendents have European ancestry (such as Daiane dos Santos, 40% European) [3]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Brazil. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. Instead of reverting, discuss it on the Talk Page. The page is currently in its pre-edit war status and it should remain so until a consensus is established. Dali-Llama 00:41, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Gisele

Opinoso 22:28, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Brazil edit war

I can't believe this discussion is still happening. One can browse the archive and see that these 2 users have been fighting for almost an year, for the same thing. Opinoso: You can have your point of view, but the fact that you wrote a big part of the article DOES NOT make you its owner. All text you write in Wikipedia is becomes automatically property of Wikipedia (not yours), since when you edit an article, above the 'Save page' button, there's a sentence saying: "You agree to license your contributions under the GNU Free Documentation License". So this means ANYBODY can, and WILL modify your contributions, and you should take that easy. If you don't like anybody being able to edit your text, then don't write anything in Wikipedia. Also, Wikipedia is community driven and you MUST NOT MAKE PERSONAL ATTACKS. If you want to make an encyclopedia with your own point of view (and just yours'), then feel free to start your own online encyclopedia. But YOU MUST STOP PERSONAL ATTACKS HERE. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. Joao: If I were you, I would ignore Opinoso's complains, but avoid to break the three revert rule. Contact Wikipedia's administrators directly to take a further action.

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Alessandra Ambrosio.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Alessandra Ambrosio.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 08:52, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Simplificar Template:Brazil topics

Você já criou a página List of Brazil-related topics?

[edit] Thanks

Thanks, I'm looking forward to helping out with what I can and yes the new layout look very good! Cheers, -AJSDA115 22:00, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:2007_Pan_American_Games_Map.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:2007_Pan_American_Games_Map.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] License tagging for Image:Live Earth Rio Concert.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Live Earth Rio Concert.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Blumenau_City_Hall.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Blumenau_City_Hall.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:2007_Pan_American_Games_Map.gif.

[edit] Live Earth - Wikipedia em inglês

Oi.

Desculpe. :-) JimboB 17:57, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi Abu badali. I don't understand (My English is bad), why you considered the images of São Paulo and Rio De Janeiro for speed deletion? Felipe C.S ( talk ) 00:01, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Joao Felipe. Per our policy on non-free content, we should never use non-free content (like "promotional" images) when it's possible to produce a free alternative. And as it's an easy task to produce freely licensed images for illustrating modern cities like São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, we don't need to use non-free images.
I hope you understand. Best regards, --Abu badali (talk) 12:57, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Ok... But now, the articles of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro will need quality images. Thanks. Felipe C.S ( talk ) 00:40, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
There are plenty of them at Commons. But if some is missing, lets go out and produce them! --Abu badali (talk) 05:27, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

— Guilherme (t/c) 02:02, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 2007 Pan American Games medal count

You have reverted me twice now without an edit summary, and have not responded to comments I've left on the talk page. I know you've been a big contributor to the page, but that does not give you sole rights to what does and doesn't go there. Could you please give me a good and compelling reason for keeping the non-medalists on the page, because otherwise, I will have to seek an alternate way to get my desired changes put onto the page, which I would certainly not like doing, as I am quite busy myself. Jaredt  17:49, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

I find important to show all information, without excluding nothing. Felipe C.S ( talk ) 17:55, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
That's hardly an explanation. I guess I would be fine with including the no medal winning nations in the big table at top, but certainly not in the separated tables below. Don't you think that having everything more compact would look better?
And in response to your new comment about the template, I've fixed the problems it caused. Jaredt  18:06, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Please keep in mind that editors are supposed to work off each other's edits. If you absolutely abhor my changes for a good reason, by all means change it to a way that might suit both of us, and others, too. I understand that even I may not like what I'm doing, but I recognize that there is a problem and I'm searching for a solution. Jaredt  18:14, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
What featured lists are you referring to? Jaredt  18:21, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

I have looked at the editing history of the above article, and the talkpage there and here and at User:Jared. I would make the following points; Wikipedia is a collabrative project, and anybody can edit. This means that no one person has the final say in how content should be presented, including the originator, and that consensus should be reached. By choosing to edit the English language version of Wikipedia means you have agreed to edit by the rules, policies and guidelines of the English language Wikipedia. A lack of communication skills in the endemic language does not allow you to disregard or not respond to the concerns of other editors, especially if you continue to edit in the manner which gave rise to the concerns.

Since there were initially two editors I would suggest that both you and User:Jared seek the opinion of a third party and attempt to form a consensus between the three of you. I note a third editor has now contributed to the article, so you might consider requesting their assistance. I shall copy this comment to the article talkpage, and I request that all parties endeavour to reach agreement there. LessHeard vanU 21:08, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your note at my talkpage. No need for apologies, all content to Wikipedia is gratefully received. If you and Jared work together, with any others, it will likely be a very good article very quickly. Happy editing. LessHeard vanU 21:22, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Please stop reverting my changes on this page. There has been consensus for the changes, and I even admitted that there was not consensus for others that I did not make. Also, please use edit summaries. If you still have problems with the layout of the page, I suggest you go to Wikipedia:Requests for comment and request that the page be reviewed. I thank you for accepting one of the changes, but would hope that you can consider using alternate means to get your point of view across because reverting people does not do that. [edit] Unspecified source for Image:Pan_2007_Volleyball.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Pan_2007_Volleyball.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:03, 15 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 18:03, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
