João P Vieira

João Vieira (born 1975) is a Portuguese author and magazine and newspaper columnist. He specializes in new technologies, and is frequently asked to consult for companies trying to prepare for the future.
In 1998, at age 22, João Vieira started writing for websites about web programming. One year later he founded the first ASP programming website written in Portuguese, and he was invited to write his first book, Programação Web Com Active Server Pages, for a small Portuguese publisher Centro Atlântico.
The book's sales in Portugal went so well that in 2000 he was invited by the biggest Portuguese technological book publisher FCA to produce his second book, Programação com Active Server Pages 3. In 2000, the English technological book publisher Wrox, invited João Vieira to be technical reviewer for two books, Professional WAP and Beginning Linux Programming.
In 2002 João Vieira started writing articles for the website for Microsoft web technologies ASPToday.
In the year 2003 João wrote magazines columns about new technologies and web programming in ASP.NET and PHP.
At the end of this same year João Vieira was invited by the biggest technologies weekly publication in the Iberian Peninsula, Bits&Bytes (circulation 220,000+ copies) to be an honored writing guest.
In 2004 João Vieira became involved with providing and preparing new projects, some in the Open Source Portuguese community, with the writing of three new books to come out in 2005.
