João Morais

João Pedro Morais (born Cascais, 6 March 1935) was a Portuguese footballer. He played as a defender for Sporting Clube de Portugal, from 1954/55 to 1968/69, were he won several national championships as well as the Portuguese Cup. He also played at the Cup Winners Cup final, in 1964, were he scored the winning goal over MTK, from a direct corner kick (1-0). In the days where european finals had to have another full game in case of a draw, this was the second game because the teams had drawn previously 3-3.

He had 10 caps for Portugal, his first coming in a 1-0 defeat of Scotland on June 18, 1966, and his last coming in a 2-1 win against Norway in a European Championship qualifier, on June 8, 1967.

He was a member of the Portuguese national team which secured third place at the 1966 World Cup.
