[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Bnei-semel.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Bnei-semel.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] No content in Category:Images of MEPs from Slovakia, 6th term
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Images of MEPs from Slovakia, 6th term, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Images of MEPs from Slovakia, 6th term has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Images of MEPs from Slovakia, 6th term, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 11:42, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:Betar-semel.jpg
This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Betar-semel.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:35, 12 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. OsamaKBOT 16:35, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- While you were away on your Wikibreak, enforcement of fair use rules has been much stricter - in addition to locating the source, you'll need to manually type in a fair use rationale onto the description page as well (see the logo tag for instructions), otherwise someone will try and get it deleted. enochlau (talk) 22:35, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for making such a useful tool (AfD Helper)! I used to comment on AfD's a lot, but quit because it took forever. Now, I can comment on more AfD's in less time! Thank you again! NF24(radio me!Editor review) 15:43, 6 November 2007 (UTC) |
- Oh yes - there's a cosmetic bug in the script. When the dialog box opens up, all the code ends up inside of it. You probably already know about this, but I'm just letting you know. Still a great tool! NF24(radio me!Editor review) 15:55, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Idan Raichel
Joel: Hi, I did some editing in the Idan Raichel article & in addition to adding some material I added a link to a post I wrote at my world music blog about one of Raichel's songs. One of the reasons I added the link is that I feature an mpe of Bo'i that visitors can listen to to actually hear his music. I've also discussed Raichel's career & the music in some detail in this post as an experienced music writer.
Someone named Jauerbach removed my link & implicitly accused me of spamming the article & commerically promoting myself & my site. I want you to know that I did no such thing & that my interest is solely in deepening the article & Wikipedians' awareness of Raichel's music. I have an MA in Jewish studies, studied several yrs. at Hebrew University, am fluent in Hebrew & have a great love of Israeli (& Jewish) music. I don't know why some people think the worst of you for doing something with the best of intentions.
If someone decides there can be no external link to my post I will reluctantly accede to this decision. But I think it will diminish the experience for anyone reading this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Richards1052 (talk • contribs) 05:54, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Idea for Talmud articles
Hi Jnothman: I am reposting the following request from User Sh76us (talk · contribs) on my user talk page for wider notification:
- I was thinking of trying to stimulate development of a series of articles on Gemara concepts and doctrines, maybe to help children or newcomers to Gemara with explanations of some fundamental concepts that recur throughout the Gemara. Some examples might be articles on Yiush, Chazakah, Ta'aninun (as in "Ta'aninun L'Yoresh"), Eidim Zomemin (forgive my awful transliterations), Migu, etc., etc. Maybe we could even create a category or subcategory for it. I created Breira in this vein. As I don't have the experience or expertise in Wikipedia to know what to do to best develop this idea, I figured I'd come to you for your opinions on: (1) whether it's a good idea; and (2) How to best go about implementing it. Thanks Sh76us (talk) 15:56, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Centralized discussion at: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Judaism#Idea for Talmud articles. Thank you. IZAK (talk) 05:48, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] User:Ozymate
Hi jnothman,
A user name has been blocked here using the name ozymate. The speedy deletion of this users and the blocking was base don the name of the person is the same as the name of an organisation/website etc... the person who own the account is the owner of the company and this is the reason why there were blocked can you please intervene on their behalf and ask for the block on this user name being unblocked.
The block will have an effect on the busines name and reputation of Ozymate and its operations I consider this not a good thing for wikipeda to do.
IMO!
regards

[edit] GPL'ng bibleverse script
Hi jnothman,
Reading up a bit on ye old bible citation discussion, I noticed that back in 2006 you were planning to move your script to a tools server and release it under the GPL. Seeing as you're pretty busy, is there anything I can do to help with that? Please let me know. TrickyApron (talk) 21:16, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Automod and edit windows
Greetings. I am working on a script (that I shamelessly stole from you - hope you don't mind) to add one categery to a template. I am having a problem with the edit portion. I pass the parameters to am_make_url and call window.open, which works, but the text I want to add at the end is placed two lines down from the last character. Since these are templates, the introduction of newlines is bad. Do you have any insights into how to fix this problem? Thanks. --Thetrick (talk) 17:21, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
