James Nimmo likes to talk about himself in the third person. After spending the first year of his life in Lower Hutt, James was relocated to England, where he learned to talk and walk during his year over there while his parents attended All Nations Bible College. James is now situated in Greymouth, New Zealand, living with his two younger siblings and parents.

From his early years James has shown a keen interest in technology - where his idea of fun was to type his name and address into a homemade customer relations management program on his Dads Amstrad PCW computer. Over the years he has maintained a sharp eye for design and anything technical. After creating his first website while in hospital when he was 9, he now manages various websites from simple HTML designs to dynamic database driven content management systems such as Joomla and Moodle.

James is currently employed at Karoro Learning, with the challenging role of Network Administrator, managing around 70 computers and an array of servers, and also does some freelance lighting work at the local Regent Theatre in his spare time.

Over the past two years he has been working on his CCNA qualification, and hopes to complete his MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) qualification during the year. Along side his interest in computing, he is a keen musician, photographer, lighting/sound technician, video editor, leader at "The Shed" youth group, student council chairperson for Greymouth High School, and loves anything tech or artsy.

After watching the 2006 Commonwealth Games openings, one of his aspirations now is to one day be involved in the technical side of things like that, in paticular being involved in the lighting team for it.

Some of his projects include:

Tripwire Promotions - organisers of The World Administration Tour 2004 (http://www.tripwire.net.nz) Tripwire (Indie-Punk-Rock Band) (http://www.tripwire.net.nz) TeenChatNZ (http://www.teenchat.co.nz) The Shed (Online Youth Community) (http://www.theshed.gen.nz

He has also worked on a huge range of other theatre, websites, lighting and sound design including:
