JNEC, or Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College, was established in 1983 by the Mahatma Gandhi Mission. It features schools in engineering, architecture, nursing, medicine, management, fine arts, journalism, and biotechnology.

Mahatma Gandhi Mission has long been a leader and innovator in professional education. Since our
inception in 1982, we have developed into  an excellent academic society that is totally committed
to human resources, development and social welfare.

A chain of Management, Medical, Nursing, Engineering, Architecture, Fine Arts and Journalism institutes, Biotechnology, Sangeet Academy & Software Technology Parks stand testimony of their endeavors. Open economic policy and thrust on globalization has led to rapid growth of the institutions.

Hon. Shri Kamalkishore Kadam, chairman of the MGM trust, obtained his Masters Degree from IIT Mumbai. He was the Minister for Education in the Indian state of Maharashtra and has headed many educational and industrial organizations in co-operative sectors. He is closely associated with many social organizations in the Marathwada region.

JNEC is one of the highly reputed Engineering college known for its academics, culture of hard work and discipline. It has a vast beautiful campus.

JNEC was established in 1983 under the aegis of Mahatma Gandhi Mission Trust lead by Chairman Kamalkishor Kadam having got his Engineering Education from IIT Mumbai. He had also been education minister of Maharashtra.

The Foundation Stone of existing JNEC building was laid through the hands Hon Shri Sharad Pawar, then the Chief Minister, of Maharashtra on Nov 14,1985.
