Jason Michael Thornberry (born in 1971 in California) is an American musician and writer. Jason played the drums in numerous bands between the years 1987 and 1999, putting music on hold after he was severely injured. Jason required months of hospitalization, two-dozen casts, several medical procedures and over a year of intensive therapy before he could re-enter society. Jason’s last concert was a festival with a then unknown, Eminem, as well as The Black Eyed Peas and Blink-182. His band, The Pressure, were just about to release their debut album and begin touring, but the day that Things Move Fast came out Jason was in intensive care after being beaten nearly to death by two gang members in Long Beach, California after a party. He was in a coma for some time, while his assailants went free on a technicality. Jason had to re-learn to eat, speak and walk.

Thornberry had been writing short stories and essays since elementary school, and spent his lengthy convalescence becoming reacquainted with his first love. Jason's style – a mixture of technical musical knowledge, wit, sarcasm, open-mindedness, and an often quirky sense of humor – has been seen in music magazines around the world, and it's only a matter of time until he's reached the notoriety he nearly gave his life searching for. Jason is currently at work on his first book.
