Jirania

Jirania is a small town in Tripura state of India on the banks of river Saidra. It is a nagar panchayat and also the headquarters of Jirania Rural Development Block. It is located in Sadar sub-divisions of West Tripura district. The local population consists mainly of Bengalis and Tripuris. It has 3 major high schools. It's market is of great importance for the local business and its sustainence. It lies on the National Highway 44 (Assam-Agartala Highway) of India.
It is the connecting link with the town of Khumulwng and Mandwi with the national highway. Other nearby towns include Ranirbazar and Champaknagar.
A petrol pump near the Jirania market serves for the town and its hinterland. The brick factories in and around Jirania are very famous. There are more than 100 brick factories in Jirania Block.
