[edit] [Untitled]
Is the J!NX forum honestly visited that much? I feel sorry for the moderators. All two of them (sakuramboo and dualdflipflop), oh wait, there is another who only seems to show up for Game section (CodeMA). I'll bet there is a substantial throughput of the "Neo" or "Z3R0C00l" types, asking how to hack their highschool girlfriend's Myspace account and crap. They must deal with a lot of B.S. every day. I salute them.
Actually, there is. thankfully the mods lock the topics almost immediately, we do not endorse malicious hacking.
[edit] The company side.
Shouldn't more about the company be said... And where is the proof that their forum is so popular? What do the people who actually run the company have to say `bout this wiki? There should also be some images from their company provided to show example of their product, no?
[edit] What the...?
Who the hell wrote this topic? It looks like a middle school student wrote it. First of all, it's poorly written. There is not enough substantial information to justify having mention the rest. There is no format for this topic, it seems like a bunch of people just piled a bunch of crap on top of each other; "Oh yeah, and this happened...", "Oh and this too..."
Whoever is editing it, really needs to clean up this page, learn how to use wiki tags to make it look good, and learn how to write with flow and substance. This isn't highschool, and Mrs. Rottencrotch isn't grading you, everybody is looking at it, and laughing.
I just realized that the first disscussion poster and I have the same IP... We must be on the same proxy!
[edit] Still sucks
I don't think just putting the same text in a more outlined form helps this page in any way. This page needs a total makeover. Besides, who cares about the freaking forum, the company is much more important to mention since that is what supports the forum. What about product examples, screenshot of the site, making sure that the people who run the site are okay with this wiki and any references made.
- -Do it yourself if your really pissed about it
[edit] Active members.
I wouldn't say there is only 100 active users, seeming how there is just under 1,000 people who have signed in within the last month, some of whome may not come back, however if you look at the statistics of those who have not signed in within a month prior to that, most of them have more than 50 posts. So I would definatly say 100 active members is undercutting it.
[edit] Article name
After visiting the the site, I don't see a reason for the capitals, "JINX", and I don't see a reason for the exclamation point, "J!NX" โ this is marketing styling, see WP:MOSTM. The article name should be simply: "Jinx"; all the places where "J!NX" appears in the article should be "Jinx" also. That said, there should be one sentence that says that the company publicizes themselves as "J!NX", and of course, all the appropriate redirects and disambigs should be (left) in place. I'm commenting as a courtesy; changes to be made, unless I hear someone yell. --Charles Gaudette 23:30, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
-
- the company name is actually J!NX. all caps and with a ! instead of an I. - -[The Spooky One] | [t c r] 08:13, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Prod
I would say that Jinx is definately a notable website, and so the prod should be deleted. An article being badly written is not a reason to delete an article. I may be wrong in saying that this shouldn't be deleted, but I feel it should at least go up for Afd. J Milburn 15:07, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- I have now given the article a moderate cleanup. J Milburn 16:00, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks for your work to improve this article. However, I didn't prod it because I thought it was non-notable (in fact, I don't like the concept or criterion of "notabiliy"), but rather because it has issues with verifiabiliy, especially in the section about the forums. I'm going to put the {{unreferenced}} tag here instead of putting it up for AfD. --Ginkgo100 talk ยท e@ 23:45, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
Well, I am not sure I agree with that. Much of the information can be traced back to the site itself or Alexa. I will see if I can provide some more sources. Something that WILL be hard to verify are the notes on the forum history...J Milburn 17:56, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- I have removed the 'unverified' tag, as I believe all information on the page can be linked back to something on the Jinx or possibly Alexa site. I have added a link to the forums, but have removed the only text I could not find any information on-For a period of time TheBroken and Jinx forums were interlinked and most of the time if a member was registered at one, they were registered at the other one as well. This promoted and fueled business and hits for both sites. However, a 'war' broke out between people who were originally from the Jinx forums and the people oringinally from TheBroken. The argument was over whose forums had the more intelligent and experienced hackers. Members uncontrollably lashed out at each other to prove who was more "1337". This resulted in the taking down of thebroken.com's forums, owned by Kevin Rose, and an apology by him to the Jinx members. Are you happy with the sourcing now? [edit] Moderators
Someone has just added that 'zero_cool'is a Jinx.com moderator, can someone confirm this? I can't acces Jinx here. J Milburn 09:33, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- Nope, it's vandalism, revert in a moment. If you can get at jinx at all, the topic causing the last two changes is here, requires a registered account.
- Ok, thanks. Jinx was blocked at school, that was the problem, and I didn't have time to find a proxy that wasn't. J Milburn 16:19, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
