[edit] Riding style

There was a medieval riding style known as a la jineta, derived from Islamic light cavalry (and an alternative style, a la brida, longer stirrups, deeper seat). I presume the riding style and the term jinete have similar roots? Any etymologists out there? Montanabw^(talk) 04:35, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
