Jintan

Jintan (simplified Chinese: 金坛; traditional Chinese: 金壇; pinyin: Jīntán) is a county-level city within Changzhou in Jiangsu province of the People's Republic of China. Jintan is not far from Shanghai, it is approximately 4 hours away by highway bus. Wu Chinese is the vernacular language spoken here.

Jintan is a relatively important industrial city. It is known for its brown vinegar production. It is also a relatively clean industrial city.

Song Ruixiang, the former governor of Qinghai was born here. The mathematician Hua Luogeng was from Jintan. There is a very prestigious middle school named after him in Jintan.
