Jinjiang Hotel is one of the most famous and luxurious hotels in Shanghai, China. The original Jinjiang Hotel dates from the 1930s which was once a block of serviced apartments, and adjacent shops, restaurants, gardens, and a community hall. Prior to the building of high-rise hotels in the 1980s and 1990s, this hotel was one of the best hotels in Shanghai. When President Nixon visited China, the American delegation stayed at this hotel. Renovated in 1998, the Jin Jiang Hotel retains its elegance and charm. The Shanghai Communiqué was signed there.
The New Jinjiang Tower Hotel is a high-rise hotel built one block from the original original Jin Jiang hotel. Reportedly built in the late 1980s.
