Jinjang is a town in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The town was established as part of British strategy called the Briggs' Plan during the Malayan Emergency. The strategy aimed to relocate Malayan people to isolate them from the communists' influence. This New Village consisting of the ethnic Chinese population is living even to this day.
Some believe that the name Jinjang originated from a pet pig brought by a Chinese merchant there and some believe that the pig has superpowers.
Jinjang comprises Jinjang Utara (North) and Jinjang Selatan (South).
