From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi, welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you decided to create an account. It looks like you created it right around the time I left a message on your IP's talk page, so in case you didn't get it I'll say it again here. Actually, I didn't revert you by mistake. The material you were inserting seems to be about someone who doesn't meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. If you can find some reliable sources on him, then it might be okay. Feel free to ask me on my talk page if you have any questions about this! I'm posting a bunch of links below to help you learn more about editing guidelines here. Good luck! [edit] Conflict of interest

Hi, I noticed that the disputed information you're adding is about you. I'd suggest reviewing Wikipedia's page on conflict of interest for guidelines. It also makes this look a little like bad faith editing. Would you mind not re-adding the information until you can find a source for it? Thanks, FCSundae (talk) 12:36, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Reliable sources

The Wikipedia page on reliable sources is a good place to start, and I'd also recommend the page on verifiability. The key is "reliable, third-party published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy." So an article in a respected news source would work. Some online sources are okay, but it depends. Self-published ones, like blogs or personal web pages, are almost always not okay, and are pretty much never okay as the only source. However, please do remember the conflict of interest policy; it's important too. In general, the project pages can explain these things better and in more detail, so I advise you to check them out. But feel free to ask me if you have any more questions. By the way, it's often easier to keep these conversations in one place, so you can also just reply here on this talk page — It'll let me know if you do. Good luck! Thank you.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 00:51, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Ilay jimmay

A tag has been placed on Ilay jimmay requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Excirial (Talk,Contribs) 10:54, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
