Who I am

I made my first Wikipedia edit in December 2004, as an anonymous user, but it was January 2006 before I summoned up enough energy to open a user account — "make haste slowly" could be my motto!

My interests are varied, but include history (especially military history), recreational maths, philosophy, birdwatching, rugby union and literature.

Most of my (so far, relatively few) contributions to Wikipedia relate to rugby union — which I played in my youth and have followed with keen interest for over 40 years — and P G Wodehouse: I have all his books, hundreds of his magazine articles, and a fairly complete collection of biographies, reference works, and works of criticism; I also maintain a website devoted to his work and am an active contributor to discussion groups relating to him.

Where I've been

I was born in the north of England, but, having spent much of my working life in the sub-tropics, I now find the (very slightly) warmer climate of Surrey, in southern England, more comfortable. Lived in: Visited: Africa: Asia & Oceania: Americas: Europe:

What I'm doing

I'm currently helping out with the disambiguation WikiProject, trying to completely overhaul P G Wodehouse's biography, and making random contributions to the rugby union WikiProject.
