Declaring my conflict of interest: I'm related to Jim Slattery (as evidenced by my username). Following the recommendations of WP:COI, I should "avoid, or exercise great caution" when editing this article, so I'm suggesting that a disinterested party review my suggestions and make the changes.

1. A website has been created for Slattery's campaign: [1]. This should be added to an "External links" section.
2. "activepol=yes" should be added to the WPBiography template on this talk page.
