The total amount Cohan paid was $142 M. The article in the SF Gate is wrong.

Sports team (especially privately held teams) routinely use dis-information with newspapers. A newspaper may be a good Wiki source but just because a newspaper prints it doesn't make it a fact. I am in possession of the actual handwritten papers that were used to sell the team.
