James Arthur Spencer (born March 29, 1969 in Manning, South Carolina) is a former American football assistant coach in the NFL for the Denver Broncos. He was previously a cornerback for the New Orleans Saints, Cincinnati Bengals, San Diego Chargers, and the Denver Broncos. Spencer played college football at the University of Florida.

He started coaching as the assistant defensive backs coach for the Broncos in 2003, making him the first NFL player-coach since Dan Reeves in 1971.
