Jimmy Owens is a jazz trumpeter, composer, arranger, lecturer, and music education consultant. He has played with Count Basie, Hank Crawford, Dizzy Gillespie, Lionel Hampton, Herbie Mann, and many more. [1]

He was a member of the late 1960s hybrid classical/ rock band, Ars Nova.
