[edit] NFL career
Martin was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in 2006, but was released by the team prior to the beginning of the 2006 NFL season. He subsequently was added to the practice squad of the Minnesota Vikings - coincidentally the team that traded the Chargers' the pick used to select Martin. He spent the season on the practice squad and went to training camp with the team in 2007 before being released.
Martin was signed a future contract with New England Patriots on January 8, 2008.
