James "Jimmy" Downey (born October 19, 1987 in Gympie, Queensland, Australia) is an Australian football (soccer) player for Perth Glory in the A-League as a right midfielder or winger.

Downey was with the Queensland Academy of Sport between 2003 and 2004 before joining the Australian Institute of Sport in 2005. In March 2007 Downey was signed by Perth Glory where he is contracted to the end of the 2009/2010 A-League season. He was a revelation for the Glory in his first season with the club, setting the league alight with his blistering pace and runs through defenses, and consistent crosses. [1]

Downey has played 9 games for the Young Socceroos, scoring one goal. He has also been called up for the Australia under 17 team.
