Jimmy D'Anda

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jimmy D'Anda was born and raised in Boyle Heights, CA. He began playing drums at the age of 13. He created a daily drum-regiment for himself in his make-shift music room which also doubled as his bedroom. Over the next few years, Jimmy played in bands around East L.A. and the Sunset Strip honing his chops until, one day, he was summoned to audition for the band BulletBoys and they were all soon signed to Warner Bros.

Jimmy released 3 records with BulletBoys which toured the world with the likes of Cheap Trick, Ozzy, Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Poison and Winger. In 1994 Jimmy took a few years off to raise his son. In 2000 Jimmy joined a band called Lithium. Some of the songs Jimmy recorded with Lithium appeared in the movie and trailer for Waking Up Dead released in 2005. In 2001 Jimmy toured with George Lynch and Lynch Mob where they opened for Dio on their North American tour. In the band at the time were Sean McNabb and Chuck Garrick.

Jimmy is currently writing and recording his own record to be released the summer of 2007. Jimmy was in London in 2005 where he filmed an international commercial for Jameson Irish Whiskey. The commercial was directed by Jonas Akerlund who directed the movie Spun and videos for Madonna, U2, Prodigy, Metallica and Smashing Pumpkins.
