Jim Wells MLA (born 27 April 1957) is a politician from the Democratic Unionist Party and a deputy speaker of the Transitional Assembly (Northern Ireland).
Wells is one of six Assembly members for South Down. He was first elected to the 1982-1986 Northern Ireland Assembly and elected for the current Assembly in 1998.
He has stood unsuccessfully in General Elections in Upper Bann in 1983 and South Down in 2001 and 2005.
He is also a councillor on Down District Council.
