James "Jim" Simpson (born February 21, 1956 in Hawaii) is an Obie award winning theater and film director, known for a commitment to avant-garde work. Founder of The Flea Theater in New York City. Husband of actress Sigourney Weaver, the couple has one daughter, Charlotte. Simpson is the son-in-law of media executive Sylvester L. Weaver Jr. and actress Elizabeth Inglis.

In 2002, Simpson directed the film The Guys starring his wife, Sigourney Weaver.
