Jim Rogers (born November 4, 1956 [1]) is a Democratic city councilmember for the city of Richmond, California. His term expires in 2010.

Rogers is a graduate of University of California, Berkeley and University of California, Davis School of Law.

Rogers was well-known throughout the San Francisco Bay Area as "the People's Lawyer," thanks to television commercials which ran throughout the 1990s, until he resigned from the bar in September 2006 with disciplinary charges pending. [1] Rogers' legal career was marred by controversy, as he was repeatedly accused of fraudulent, negligent, and unethical practices by former clients.[2]

He also has a habit of weaseling into RSF basketball games.
