Jim Lawlor

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jim Lawlor is an English football scout, currently the Chief Scout at Manchester United. Before joining the Red Devils, Lawlor previously worked in South African football,[1] and has also held the position of Senior Lecturer in Sports Science at Liverpool John Moores University, where he worked on a tracking system for use in football matches.[2]

During his time in South Africa, Lawlor got to know South African national team coach Stuart Baxter, who would go on to become Helsingborg manager in 2006. It was Lawlor's relationship with Baxter that opened the door for Manchester United to sign Henrik Larsson for 10 weeks in 2007.[1] Lawlor has also been involved in scouting Didier Zokora for United.[3]
