James "Jim" Latimer was a fictional character on ITV's Emmerdale in 1973 and 1991. He was first played by Myles Reithermann in 1973 and then by Dennis Blanch on his release from prison in 1991. Jim was revealed as the rapist and murderer of teenager Sharon Crossthwaite and was sent to prison. When he was released in 1991 he tried to kidnap Sarah Connolly as she was involved with Jack Sugden, who was a witness against him in 1973.
