[edit] Career

Kerr began his professional career with Dundee United but made just two senior appearances before moving on to Airdrieonians in 1981. Raith Rovers was Kerr's next stop after a handful of appearances for Airdrie and he went on to play over seventy league games for Rovers, moving to Brechin City in 1984. Kerr made a similar number of appearances for City before moving to Falkirk in 1986, where he made just under fifty appearances. A short spell with Hamilton Academical preceded eighteen months with Partick Thistle, before Kerr began the 1990s with Stirling Albion. Over 100 matches later, Kerr finished his career with Albion Rovers and then Arbroath, where he was also assistant manager. Upon retiring, Kerr had made nearly 425 league appearances for ten different clubs, scoring thirty-five times.
