Jim Geeting is a retired Wyoming state trooper, author, Wyoming Press Association Pace Maker Award winner,[citation needed] and public speaker.

[edit] Biography
Geeting was born in Los Angeles, California. He went on to join the Wyoming Highway Patrol, where he retired after 20 years of service. He has spoken on radio and publicly about law enforcement and safety, and has authored several books, including Truckers and Troopers, Cops and Kids, Shots Fired Shots Forgiven, The Badge, and The Badge Part Two. Geeting still has a column called "Beyond the Badge" which appears in several Wyoming newspapers. He will soon be releasing his sixth book, "The American Trucker."

Geeting is a self-described conservative. He is an open supporter of the military and President George W. Bush. Geeting himself never served in the military, although he has stated that he wanted to but wasn't able due to his height. He is 6'10", and this brought up problems when he tried to enlist.

Geeting has stated he was greatly influenced by his father, who died in 2007. He was a World War II veteran, a former volunteer firefighter, and former law enforcement officer.
