Although I am content that former President Carter is now and deserves to always be among the modst elite of our country's social and political hierarchy, I believe that in his later years Mr. Carter, by virtue of his desire to intercede in current international events, has exceeded both his authority and his intellectual capacity to do so. It seems to me that while Mr. Carter is indeed a learned statesman, that his time as a former "politico" has now come and gone. Like movie stars of old, and Army generals who have stated that "Old Soldiers Never Die - They Just Fade Away", so should our former President....taking with him the gratitude of a grateful nation .....................
