In particular, please stop uploading images from Revenge of the Sith: the fact that these images have BITC in them strongly suggests that they have been illegally acquired. If you do not stop doing this immediately, I will block you from editing. -- The Anome 10:31, May 25, 2005 (UTC)
By the fact that you blanked this page after my comment, I presume you have read it. Please also read the Wikipedia:Copyright policy for more guidance on what is and isn't acceptable to upload here, and why you need to tag its source and copyright status if you want it kept here. Oh, and please don't blank your entire talk page after every comment: it helps to keep some context for other readers. -- The Anome 10:39, May 25, 2005 (UTC)
I don't really understand what are you trying to tell me? I'm actually still new here. But if you don't want me to upload any more images, then that's fine with me. -- Jill Tan 18.45, May 25, 2005
- Ooops, sorry. Welcome to Wikipedia!.
- No, we really like people who upload images. It's just that in order to keep our content free for everyone, we need to avoid violating other people's copyrights. Unfortunately, this means you have to be rather careful about tagging and sourcing images: some categories of images are fine, others are not.
- I'm sorry if I came across as being excessively strident in my earlier comment; it's just that screen captures of what appears to be copyrighted material that seems to have been acquired during the post-production process of a high-profile Hollywood movie is very high on the list of things we don't want: I've looked at your other contributions since, and they seem to be mostly publicity material such as posters, which I think might be classified as legitimate fair use under U.S. copyright law (I'm not a lawyer, though). -- The Anome 10:50, May 25, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Padme.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Padme.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag, so its copyright status is therefore unclear. Could you add a tag to let us know its copyright status? (If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know on the image description page where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Otherwise, see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Thanks so much. Looks to be a promo photo. Is this correct? --michael180 14:58, August 5, 2005 (UTC)
You welcome. Yes, it is a promo pic. - Jill Tan

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Jaina.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Jaina.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:24, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Tsubasasakura.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Tsubasasakura.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:16, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
