The music was written by Dick Manning, the lyrics by Robert Colby. The song was published in 1954.
Teresa Brewer recorded the biggest-selling version on December 29, 1953. This recording was released by Coral Records as catalog number 61152. It first reached the Billboard magazine charts on April 14, 1954, lasting 9 weeks and peaking at #14 on the Best Seller chart [1] and #6 altogether.
Other 1954 recordings were made by Diana Decker and by UK singers Alma Cogan and Joan Regan.
