Jillian "Jill" Taylor (neé Patterson) is a fictional character in the TV sitcom Home Improvement played by Patricia Richardson. Her main role is Tim Taylor's wife. She is also the mother of Brad, Randy, and Mark Taylor.

[edit] Background

She grew up moving around, because of her father being in the army. Jill has four sisters: Robin, Linda, Tracy, and Carrie. They all appear together in "Taps" when Jill's father dies. Although the names Katie and Carol were mentioned as Jill's sisters, when Jill's mother comes to visit the Taylors in "Much Ado About Nana," she says that she had "five daughters." Jill also has no brothers. Jill nags Tim in numerous episodes.

[edit] Running gags

  • Her cooking talent, or lack thereof
  • Whenever she address any of her sons by their full names it is a sure sign that that person is in trouble.
  • Whenever Tim wants to make changes to an appliance, Jill refuses to let him.

She has a degree in psychology and a fear of mice.
