[edit] CAS related articles

Hey, I noticed that you have been editing alot of articles related to CAS, FACs, JTACs etc... I do not agree with some of your merger proposals but I will concede that most of these articles need a lot of work. Would you be interested in working together over time to really improve this whole category. Let me know, then we can take them one at a time or find another way to really improve them. --Looper5920 09:54, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Articles with JETDS titles

Article titles consisting of nothing but a Joint Electronics Type Designation System (JETDS) designation (for example, "APQ-181") are not descriptive enough to be useful to readers -- particulary when viewing a list of articles on a category page. Although there are a handful of the shorter titles in use, it is much more common on Wikipedia for the article to be named with the JETDS designator followed by a brief descriptor (e.g. APQ-181 radar, ALR-67 Radar Warning Receiver, AIM-120 AMRAAM). Please be very selective when moving articles to the shorter titles. Engineer Bob 19:58, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] USAR Female Mess Dress

Hello, I would like to ask you for further imformation about this picture. What's the rank of the soldier? It this a regular formal dress or a special formal dress (among other formal dresses). What that "curling" at the arms called? To what occasions is this dress worn? Do you have a source? Thanks so far, -- Scriberius 10:07, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

It is worn for black tie events.
The sleeve markings is the braid and trefoil. The braid is the gold-color-gold stripe on lower part (color depends on what you do, i.e. blue for infantry). Above the braid is the trefoil (the "curling" as you put it). Between the braid and trefoil is the rank insignia (the image is too blurry to make out the insignia so I can't tell you what rank she is).
Look here to see the jacket up close: [1]
You can also google "army mess dress". Jigen III 10:45, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Image:ChemicalBC.gif

A tag has been placed on Image:ChemicalBC.gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
