Jian Wang (born 1958 in Dalian) is a contemporary Chinese painter.

[edit] Early life

Born in the city of Dalian in 1958, Wang studied social realism in school, but his work privately earned him a space in the Dalian Youth Palace Arts. There, he was taught English. In 1986, Wang went to the United States, where he studied with the American artist Wayne Thiebaud, sculptor Manuel Neri, and painter David Hollowell.

Wang had a gallery from October-November 2002, where he had a 104-page book published of his work.
