JIA RUHAN, Soprano:
1982 China Born Soprano Jia Ruhan, started to study piano at the age of four, started to study Dance (Classical, Jazz and Chinese folk dance) at six. When she was nine she started to study Chinese Opera and the next year, she started to study Bel-Canto.
She studied both at the Chinese Conservatory of Music Appertain High School, Department of Voice, and at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music where she started her Major. Ms Jia Ruhan holds a “Bachelor Of Arts” Degree from the Shanghai Conservatory Of Music.
She did numerous appearances at the Shanghai Centre Of Drama, where she performed in theatrical plays, as well as in musicals. She performed in Hong-Kong, and in most Chinese major cities.
She was selected in February 2007 by French “Theatre du Chatelet” of Paris to play and sing different Characters in the Co-production of the “Monkey Journey To The West”
In February 2008 Jia Ruhan recorded several songs in London UK with Damon Albarn for a new, to be released, CD. In March 2008, she recorded in Shanghai the theme song of the “2008 Beijing Olympic Games” (Composer: TAN DUN)
