[edit] Wikipedia:Sandbox/Word Association
The idea is that you only get to add one word at a time per game. I have removed two of the words you added to one of the games. -- Francs2000 23:22, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Possible Script assessment problem on Henri Lebesgue?
Hi JHoltzman,
I noticed a recent ratings assessment you performed on the Henri Lebesgue article. Rating changes shown here.
Looking at the change comment the rating was applied by a Script being used as part of the Wiki-Biography project. I am curious whether it was intentional to also overwrite the Start class rating assigned by the Math project. I know this article was considered by Geometry Guy and the only change since his assessment was my addition of an infobox. There was an earlier (wiki-Math) B-class assessment before the recent rating review by Geometry Guy on 2007-06-17 where he raised concerns about secondary references and reclassified the document as Start class.
So overall I guess I'm curious whether the script unintentionally applied a B-class rating to both Math and Biography wiki-projects (when it was intended to just modify the Biography project rating?)

- Thanks for your quick response.
- Looking at the ratings guides - very slightly different for biograph and math projects - I agree with the B assessment you gave on the biography side. However there might be some significant technical aspect missing from the article. I'm not sufficiently familiar with Lebesgue's work to judge this.
- I'll flag the change to Geometry Guy with a suggestion that the B rating stand in both categories. You are very welcome to follow the discussion and contribute.
- My time on wikipedia has, so far, been quite short so I will defer to his and your judgements within each respective project.

-
- I also add ratings semi-automatically, so I know how easy it is to make mistakes! I think my hasty Start-Class maths rating was rather stingy: certainly a lack of secondary references should not preclude a B-Class rating!
- However, I've looked more closely at the article, and, by accident, Start-Class seems to be correct from the math point of view, as the section on Lebesgue integration (Lebesgue's main mathematical contribution) is not biographical. I leave it to others to decide whether this is okay for WPBiography: there is, of course, no reason why the two ratings have to be the same. Geometry guy 14:52, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] DC Meetup notice
Greetings. There is going to be a Washington DC Wikipedia meetup on next Saturday, July 21st at 5pm in DC. Since you are listed in Category:Wikipedians_in_Maryland, I thought I'd invite you to come. I'm sorry about the short notice for the meeting. Hopefully we'll do somewhat better in that regard next time. If you can't come but want to make sure that you are informed of future meetings be sure to list yourself under "but let me know about future events", and if you don't want to get any future direct notices \(like this one\), you can list yourself under "I'm not interested in attending any others either" on the DC meetup page.--Gmaxwell 00:26, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notice to all members of WikiProject Maryland
There are a few things going on right now in WikiProject Maryland that I thought all members should know about, especially the first one.
- Not too long ago, Marylandstater raised the question of exactly how many members of the project are still active. For this reason, I'm asking everyone who is still active, and wants to remain in the project, to put an asterisk (*) after their username on the project's participants list. You have until the end of November 17, 2007 to do so, sometime after that, all the names that do not have an asterisk will be removed. This is just to clean up the ever expanding list. If you've been gone and come back to find that you've been removed from the list, don't take it personally, just re-add yourself! I won't feel bad at all if no one gets removed, in fact, it would be nice if all 30 members still consider themselves active. Also, this won't affect the two subprojects, but speaking of the subprojects...
- As of sometime next week WikiProject Baltimore City College will be no more. Myself, Golem88991, and John Carter have decided to make it into a task force of WikiProject Maryland. If you have any objections, concerns, or comments, please post them in the talk page topic concerning this.
Now for the exiting news:
- I'm pleased to announce the creation of the Baltimore Task Force! Those interested in contributing to Wikipedia's numerous articles related to Maryland's largest city, now have a place to collaborate.
- I'd also like to take this time to propose a project newsletter. Any comments should be directed at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Maryland#Newsletter.
A couple last things:
- The portal is in desperate need of maintenance, anyone who's interested, go check it out.
- It's probably a good idea to add the project page (and thus the project talk page) to your watchlist. That way, you can easily see when new comments are posted.
I hope you read through all that ;). Thanks to all members for your contributions to the project's articles so far, let's keep up the good work!
Sincerely, -Jeff (talk) 05:53, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
