Mahendra Singh (MS) Dhoni pronunciation  (born July 7, 1981 in Ranchi, Jharkhand) is an Indian cricketer. He is an aggressive right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper. He is currently ranked sixth in the official ICC cricket rankings for batsmen in Limited over internationals (as of April 12, 2007) and 65th in the official ICC rankings for batsmen in Test matches.

He was picked to play for the Indian cricket team in December 2004 and has been a regular member of the Indian one-day international team since then. His success in the limited overs format has also secured him a Test spot, and he is rapidly becoming one of the most famous & marketable icons in India, noted for his shoulder length hair.

Lance Naik (LCpl) Albert Ekka (1942-71) was a soldier in the Indian army. He died in service in the Battle of Hilli, during the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971. He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest award for valour in the face of the enemy,

Albert Ekka was born on 27 December 1942, in Zari village of Ranchi tehsil of Ranchi district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. His father's name was Zuluis Ekka and he hailed from a Christian family of tribal heritage. On 27 December 1962, at the age of 20, Albert was enrolled in the 14 Guards of the Indian army.

Yashwant Sinha

Yashwant Sinha (born November 6, 1937) is an Indian politician belonging to the BJP and a former finance minister and foreign minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee's cabinet. He was born and educated in Patna, Bihar. He received his Masters Degree in Political Science in 1958. Subsequently, he taught Political Science in the Patna University from 1958 to 1960.

Yashwant Sinha joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1960 and spent over 24 years holding important posts during his service tenure. He served as Sub-Divisional Magistrate and District Magistrate for 4 years. He was Under Secretary and Deputy Secretary in the Finance Department of the Bihar Government for 2 years after which he worked in the Ministry of Commerce as Deputy Secretary to the Government of India.

Shibu Soren (born 11 January 1944) was an Indian Criminal MP and was until recently a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Dumka constituency of Jharkhand and is the president of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) political party.

He was the Minister for Coal in the Manmohan Singh cabinet in November 2006, when a Delhi court found him guilty in the killing of his private secretary Shashi Nath Jha in 1994. He is also charged with a number of other murders, and also other criminal charges, relating to a bribery deal with the Congress to save the Narasimha Rao government in a no-confidence motion in July 1993. He is the first Union Minister of the Government of India to be found guilty of the charge of murder.

He was born in Nemra village of Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand States and territories of India. He completed his schooling from the same district. After schooling, he got married and decided to work with his father who was a farmer. He has three sons and a daughter.

He started his political career in the early 1970s and rose to become a tribal leader. On 23 January 1975, he allegedly led a mob that attacked the Muslim-dominated Chirudih village in Jamtara district in a campaign to drive away "outsiders", a term used to describe non-tribals. Ten people including nine Muslims were killed in the attack. Along with sixty eight others, he was charged for murder. He lost his first Lok Sabha election in 1977. He was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 1980. In 1986, an arrest warrant was issued against him. He was subsequently elected to the Lok Sabha in 1989, 1991 and 1996 as well. In 2002, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha with the help of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He won the Dumka Lok Sabha seat in a by-election the same year and resigned his Rajya Sabha seat. He was re-elected in 2004.

He became the Union Coal Minister in the Manmohan Singh government (20042009), but was asked to resign following an arrest warrant in his name in a thirty year old case of killing 11 people in Chirrudih. After the warrant was issued, he initially went underground. He resigned on 24 July 2004. He is a member of the Lok Sabha representing Dumka, Jharkhand elected for the sixth time to the Lok Sabha in 2004. He was re-inducted into the Union Cabinet and given back the coal ministry on 27 November 2004.

Rajasree Mukherjee

Rajasree Mukherjee (born July 7, 1959 in Tatanagar, India) is a renowned singer and Music Therapist. Rajasree Mukherjee is an Honors graduate in Zoology from Lady Brabourne College, Kolkata. She trained in Rabindra Sangeet from Padmasree Suchitra Mitra and ranked first class first in her Diploma examination from Rabi Tirtha School of Music, Kolkata. She is a double graduate in, vocalist and leading teacher of Indian Classical and Traditional music. Ranked second in Rabindra Sangeet all India basis, in her Sangeet Prabhakar graduation examination conducted by Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. In 1975 she toured and performed in the United States and Canada with Suchitra Mitra. She later did her second graduation in Indian music, securing the Sangeet Visharad degree from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh.

A gifted singer with a melodious voice she has proved to be a very popular performer. Her numerous concerts in Kenya, Tanzania, India, Canada and the United States have all drawn full houses. In addition to being a popular performer she is one of the most reputed trainers in Indian music in East Africa. She has written lyrics for over 120-film and non-film songs and recorded leading playback singers like Alka Yagnik, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Anuradha Paudwal, Abhijeet, Vinod Rathod, Mohamed Aziz and Shailendra Singh among others. As an experienced Music Therapist she has used Indian Classical music to great effect in meditation techniques. She has conducted several workshops on music over Television and Radio.

Birsa Munda (1875 – June 9, 1900) was a Munda leader in the late 19th century political independence movement during the British Raj in India.

Birsa Munda is named with great respect as one of the freedom fighters in the Indian struggle for independence against British colonism. His achievements in the freedom struggle become even greater considering he accomplished this before his 25th year. Birsa's devotion to his people was such that he was alomost revered as God by his followers. By the time he was in his 20s, his activities in the tribal areas of Jharkhand state (earlier Bihar) had already begun to worry the British establishment to a considerable extent. He was finally caught by the British on 3 February 1900 when only 25 years of age. He died soon afterwards in mysterious circumstances on 9 June 1900 in Ranchi Jail.

Tanushree Dutta (IPA[t̪ənuʃri]ː ITRANS:tanushrI) (born 19 March 1985) is an Indian film actress and model. She won the Femina Miss India title in 2004.


Tanushree Dutta was born and raised in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand state (then Bihar), and did her graduation in communications in Pune, Maharashtra. She is Bengali. She won the Femina Miss India title in 2004, and placed among the top ten in the Miss Universe 2004 pageant held in Quito, Ecuador.

She debuted in Bollywood in 2005. She worked on two films simultaneously Chocolate and Aashiq Banaya Apne. Chocolate was intended to be her debut film, however its release was preceded by Aashiq Banaya Apne.

Priyanka Chopra (Hindi: प्रियंका चोपड़ा, born 18 July 1982) is a two-time Filmfare Award-winning Indian actress. After winning the title of Miss India World and later becoming Miss World 2000, Priyanka has become one of the most successful and popular actresses from the industry.

Priyanka studied at La Martiniere Girls' College in Lucknow, as a young girl and later came to the United States, where she was a student at Newton North High School, in Newton, Massachusetts and North Delta Senior Secondary High School in North Delta before returning to India to complete high school at Army Public School (Bareilly). She began college at Jai Hind College in Mumbai but left after winning the Miss World pageant.

Priyanka was crowned Miss India World and later Miss World in 2000. In the same year, Lara Dutta and Diya Mirza, both from India, won the Miss Universe and Miss Asia Pacific crowns, in a rare triple.
